To provide a method for determining a proper operation of a climate control system to he performed for preventing fogging of a windshield during rainfall.
This method for determining a windshield fogging limit is provided for automatically controlling a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning(HVAC) system for a vehicle. This method includes a process 102 determining a windshield parameter used as a function of rainfall occurrence, a process 104 determining a temperature difference on the basis of temperature inside a vehicle cabin and outside air temperature, a process 106 determining a fogging limit relative humidity on the basis the windshield parameter and the temperature difference, a process 108 determining a fogging possibility on the basis of a difference between the fogging limit relative humidity and an estimated cabin relative humidity, a process 110 determining a fogging preventing operation to be performed on the basis of the fogging possibility, and processes from 112 to 120 performing the determined fogging preventing operation for controlling the HVAC system.
