To provide a method of and a device for cutting a metallic tube or a resin coated metallic tube with such high precision that it may not that cause turning or score mark of the metallic tube at cutting or cause dragging at cut section owing to the resin coating layer when it is applied to the resin coated metallic tube.
A metallic tube 1 is held by holders 2a, 3a and holders 2b, 3b possible to open and close. A part of tube wall facing to a direction of diameter at cutting position of the metallic tube 1 is cut simultaneously along the identical about tangent line by cut off blades 5a, 5b to be driven synchronously. The turning moments to be applied to the metallic tube 1 by the cut off blade respectively, are offset, the turning of the metallic tube 1 is prevented when a part of the tube wall is cut off. Strong tightening force to be applied to the holders 2a, 3a are holders 2b, 3b is not required and the holding mechanism becomes simple. Thereby, the deformation of the metallic tube 1 is prevented. Furthermore, as the cutting of the metallic tube 1 by the cut off blade 6 is carried out at thin part, the generation of burr and the deformation of cut section at cutting off by the cut off blade 6 can be prevented. Synthetically, the cutting of the metallic tube 1 or the resin coated metallic tube can be made in high precision.
