Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting an error signal for an optical recording/reproducing equipment which are not so much affected by the external noise while having high S/N ratio and also made to be not so mush affected with respect to the detrack.
SOLUTION: Optical beams passing through an objective lens after reflected/ diffracted on a recording medium are independently detected in the manner of dividing them to four outside optical areas and four inside optical areas positioned inside them with respect to the radial direction in the shape of 2×4 matrix so that border lines are arranged in the radial direction of the recording medium and the tangential direction of a track, then detected signals of at least one outside optical area positioned in the first diagonal direction and at least one inside optical area positioned in the second diagonal direction are added to obtain at least one first added signal, and detected signals of at least, one inside optical area positioned in the first diagonal direction and at least, one outside optical area positioned in the second diagonal direction are added up to obtain at least, one second added signal, then the device is composed so as to obtain an inclination error signal from a phase comparison signal obtained by comparing phases between the first and second added signals each other.
