To provide a method for die quenching of a ring-shaped article with which the die quenching with less heat deformation and excellent accuracy can be performed, while the working procedure and the configuration are relatively simple, and which can be applied to the ring-shaped article of any size, and a device for die quenching of the ring-shaped article.
The method for die quenching of the ring-shaped article includes: a heating step of heating the ring-shaped article 10 to the quenching temperature; and a cooling step of cooling the ring-shaped article while restrictive dies 11, 12 inclined closer to one circumferential edge side as being separated in the axial direction from the ring-shaped article 10 are pressed against the other circumferential edge of the outer and inner circumferential edges on both sides of the ring-shaped article 10. The device for die quenching of the ring-shaped article comprises a heating unit and a cooling unit. The cooling unit has an upper die holding means capable of holding the restrictive die 11 so as to be pressed against the circumferential edge of an upper side surface of the ring-shaped article 10 with both sides directed in the vertical direction, a lower die holding means capable of holding the restrictive die 12 so as to be pressed against the circumferential edge of the lower side surface of the ring-shaped article 10, and a concentricity maintaining means for concentrically maintaining the centers of the upper and lower die holding means.
