PURPOSE: To allow gentle and efficient handling when a blank deposit is discharged from a base stage by using a double stacked intermediate sheets.

CONSTITUTION: Thin and flexible intermediate sheets 15 and 16 are provided in the middle of stacked deposits 11. The end part of the intermediate sheet 15 directed to a layer 13 of a top deposit which is to be discharged is grasped and pulled horizontally from a pallet in the same plane as the deposit 13. During the pulling operation, a lower intermediate sheet 16 is fixed to a position 22 of a deposit so as to assure a deposit layer positioned below. As a result, the intermediate sheet 15 slides on the lower intermediate sheet 16, and upper deposit layer 13 is discharged from the pallet 12 or remaining deposits. Then the deposit 13 is separated from the intermediate sheet 15 and automatically placed on a discharge conveyor 25. The intermediate sheet 16 is diverted by a roller 29 comprising an adsorption port, and removed from over the deposit 13.
