PURPOSE: To output an external character in a determined color only by specifying the external character once the attribute of the color is set when the external character is generated by adding color information to each external character data and storing them.

CONSTITUTION: Font data on the external character is generated on the external character generation screen of a CRT 8 through a keyboard 4 or pointing device 5 and its color is set. Code information for identifying the external character data is indicated and the icon of the generation end is indicated through the keyboard 4 or pointing device 5, thus ending the external character editing operation. Consequently, font data and set color data are stored on a floppy disk driver 10 or hard disk drive 11 while made to correspond to identification codes.
