PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for editing a picture with which even a person who is poor at plotting an illustration and an annimation can inexpensively and easily generate picture information in short time.
CONSTITUTION: Feature information on picture information inputted from a picture input part 1 is obtained in a feature extraction part 2, and sample picture information and feature information on sample picture information are correspondingly stored in a feature registration part 4 and a sample picture registration part 5. A feature comparison judgement part 3 compares feature information on inputted picture information with feature information on a sample picture and judges similarity. Corresponding sample picture information is read from the sample picture registration part 5 in accordance with judged similarity and it is displayed in a display part 13. A picture processing part 6 can edit the picture between inputted picture information and displayed sample picture information.
