PURPOSE: To automatically map a file system in an indeterminate medium by comparing a volume identifier read from a medium with a identifier related to the file system.
CONSTITUTION: The volume identifier is read from the medium by a loaded file system driver to be compared with the identifier related to the file system driver. Then when this identifier and the volume identifier coincide with each other, the file system driver is mounted. On the other hand when both identifiers do not coincide with each other, a next file system identified by the linked list of the file system driver is loaded. Thereby regardless of the form and the format of the file system the indeterminate medium is automatically and dynamically mapped to a proper file system.
