Abstract:
To provide a dose measurement technique that can: highly accurately measure and evaluate a dose of each type of radiation in a field where neutron rays and γ rays from low energy to high energy are present together; highly accurately measure and evaluate a dose of γ rays even in a γ-ray field where γ rays having a continuous spectrum are present; and also be applied to a personal dosimeter.SOLUTION: To measure a dose in a field where neutron rays and γ rays are present together, two glass dosimeters are used. To measure a dose of neutron rays, a contribution of γ rays is reduced so that a response value becomes equal to a dose conversion coefficient dependent on neutron ray energy. To measure a dose of γ rays, a contribution of neutron rays is reduced so that a response value becomes equal to a dose conversion coefficient dependent on γ ray energy. A dose measurement in a γ-ray field where γ rays having a continuous spectrum are present is made by using one glass dosimeter so that a response becomes equal to a dose conversion coefficient dependent on γ ray energy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
