To provide a method and a device for measuring the weight of powder inside a transparent container, which enable easy total-number management, can reduce influence of environments such as wind and vibration, and can measure the weight of powder filled up in a bottle with high accuracy quickly.
The weight measuring method includes: a first process for making a gripping mechanism grip the transparent container 1 filled up with the powder 2 while inclining the container by a predetermined angle in a vertical direction; a second process for repeatedly applying impulses and/or vibrations to the transparent container 1, and flattening the surface of the powder being exposed to the space in the transparent container; a third process for acquiring data for finding the area of the exposed surface of the powder by using a sensor 3 from outside the transparent container 1, and finding the exposed surface area of the powder from the obtained data; and a fourth process for calculating the weight of the powder filled up in the transparent container 1 by comparing the area measurement value of the exposed surface of the powder obtained in the third process, with data for conversion obtained by measuring the relation of exposed surface areas to filled-up powder weights beforehand.
