To prevent damage to a body of furnace by discharging molten ashes together with molten glass out of a molten ash and glass outlet port.
Glass is supplied into a furnace 10 from a glass feed part 2. The glass is melted by means of a burners 4 and stored on the bottom of the furnace so that a molten glass furnace floor 5 is formed. If ashes are introduced from an ash feed part under such conditions, the ashes fall down on the floor 5 and heated by molter glass and the burners 4 and melted. Since the floor 5 is formed from glass having low erosiveness and ashes are fed on the floor to melt the ashes on the molten glass, the molten ashes are prevented from coming in contact with the body of the furnace. The molten ashes are discharged from a molten ash and glass outlet port by causing the ashes to overflow or the ashes are wound up by means of a molten ash and glass winding device with a molten ash and glass outlet port and delivered. The discharged ashes and glass are cooled with water and formed into slag.
