Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR RECOGNIZING MAGNETIC PATTERN, AND COMPOSITE PROCESSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3716876
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for recognizing magnetic pattern by which the rate of recognition can be improved in the case of recognizing magnetic ink character recognition(MICR) characters by detecting a detection waveform and comparing it with a reference waveform through a magnetic head while conveying check paper added with the MICR character.
SOLUTION: In a step 72, character space information is possessed from the character starting position of the detected waveform and when any one character can not be determined by simple comparison in a step 75 or slide comparison in a step 78, the reference waveform is elongated/contracted based on the character space information and compared with the detected waveform. Especially, when the space between characters is remarkably elongated, only one part of the reference waveform is elongated/contracted in a step 83 so that the recognition rate can be improved.
