To provide a method and device for renewing an existing pipe, capable of safely laying a new pipe with high strength by a simple method.
The device comprises a crushing part 24 which is propelled in an existing pipe 10 to be renewed and breaks the existing pipe by diameter expansion; a new pipe holding part 32 which is located at the propelling directional rear end of the crushing part 24, and holds and inserts a new pipe 22 into the existing pipe 10 broken by diameter expansion; and a delayed curing lubricant discharge part 30 provided in the middle of the crushing part 24 and the new pipe holding part 32 and having a discharge port 28 for a liquid delayed curing lubricant 44 to be filled in a clearance between the existing pipe 10 broken by diameter expansion and the new pipe 22. The delayed curing lubricant discharge part 30 includes a flow preventive member 46 for preventing inflow of the delayed curing lubricant 44 on the crushing part 24 side of the discharge port 28.
