A vehicle body supporting frame 2 is constituted of a horizontal lower frame 3 for supporting a vehicle body bottom side, a side frame 4 for supporting one side surface of the vehicle body, and an elevating/lowering upper frame 5 provided with a piercing tool 9 for piercing and restricting a roof of the vehicle body with the roof. A reversing device turns the vehicle body supporting frame 2 by about 90 by a reversing cylinder 7. When using the reversing device for a special vehicle body C2 such as a convertible having no roof to be pierced by the piercing tool 9, an adapter B is mounted to a header frame 10a of the vehicle body C2. The adapter B is clamped to the header frame 10a, and the top side of the vehicle body can be restricted similarly to a general vehicle body by inserting the piercing tool 9 in an engagement hole.
