Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase band compression by allowing a B0B bit added after a final conversion coefficient as soon as possible by selecting the scanning direction of a coefficient converted into N×N blocks as necessary. CONSTITUTION: An energy oblique shunt device 4 recognizes the energy distribution configuration of a conversion coefficient being the output of a two dimensional converting part 1, and outputs oblique information. A scanning order deciding part 5 selects the corresponding scanning order from among 2m pieces of stored scanning order according to the (m) bit oblique information outputted from the shunt device 4, and the conversion coefficient is outputted from a conversion coefficient storing part 2. A data compressing means 6 quantizes the conversion coefficient successively outputted by an address outputted from the deciding part 5, operates VLC, and compresses the data. An MUX 7 selectively outputs the compressed data outputted from the means 6 and the oblique information from the shunt device 4. On the other hand, a deMUX separates the compressed data outputted from the MUX 7 from the oblique information, and a data restoring means restores the compressed data into the data before compression.
