To provide a medium taking-out method and a medium taking-out device in which the media remaining inside the device are taken out when a plurality of kinds of media are successively inserted in the device and returned after performing the printing, the remaining media are guided and ejected into a drawing tray by an ejecting tray provided on a back side even when a plurality of kinds of media remain inside by some causes after successively performing the printing by a desk-type printer, and the next media are inserted for printing, the drawing tray is drawn forward to take out the media and the media remaining inside can be easily taken out while avoiding ejection of media to a back side as in a conventional case.

In the medium taking-out method, the medium remaining in the device is guided and ejected into the drawing tray by the ejecting tray provided in a rear side of the device, and the drawing tray is drawn forward of the device, and the medium remaining inside the device is taken out when a plurality of kinds of media are successively inserted in the device, and carried to the printing position to perform the printing.
