To provide a method for driving a liquid droplet delivering and recording head which can correct scattering of the volumes of ink droplets between heads and in a delivering mechanism in the head by using binary digital driving wave form without upsizing of a driving circuit and increasing in cost.
Respective delivering mechanisms are classified into either a high rank group, a middle rank group or a low rank group in which ranges of the volumes of ink droplets delivered by the same driving wave form are respectively different. The pulse width where the volume of the liquid droplet becomes maximum when one pulse is applied on a piezoelectric element 42 by using the low rank group as an object is set in advance as the pulse width for the driving wave form for the large droplet. When the driving wave form for the large droplet is applied on the piezoelectric element 42 by using the delivering mechanism of the other group as an object, the pulse width wherein the volume of the liquid droplet is the same as the maximum volume of the liquid droplet of the delivering mechanism of the low rank group, and the pulse width which is smaller than the pulse width where the volume of the liquid droplet delivered becomes maximum are set in advance as the pulse width of the driving wave form for the large droplet.
