To reduce the cost of equipment and raw materials, to improve the operating rate of manufacturing equipment by ensuring a safe range of a carrying width of an end part slit, to ensure the required physical properties of a cellulose ester film and to enable manufacture of the film free of a failure in winding such as breakage/sticking, in regard to a manufacturing method of the cellulose ester film used for a protective film for a polarizing plate, or others.
In the method provided herein, the cellulose ester film having a final film thickness of 30-125 μm is manufactured by a solution casting film-making method. When the final product width of the cellulose ester film is denoted by X(mm), formulas of 200 mm<casting width(mm)-X(mm)<800 mm, 210 mm<reduced pressure chamber width(mm)-X(mm)<820 mm, 400 mm<support width(mm)-X(mm)<1,000 mm, are established.
