Abstract:
To provide a method for the examination of oral cavity cancer enabling the prognostic diagnosis of precritical state or after treatment by accurately determining the constitution liable to cause the affection or relapse of oral cavity cancer.
The susceptibility and/or malignancy of oral cavity cancer can be estimated by using SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) of MMP-1 gene which is a causal gene of oral cavity cancer. Since the judgment can be performed by using genetic level inspection as an additive means, the load on the patient such as medical cost and mental anxiety can be reduced to reduce the total medical cost by the optimum medical practice from the social viewpoint.
