Abstract:

To provide a method for expressing a curcuminoid-responsive gene and/or an antocyanine-responsive gene, a method and a kit for screening an anti-obesity material and/or an anti-diabetes material, and a method and a kit for evaluating an improved state of obesity and/or diabetes.

Expression of the curcuminoid-responsive gene and/or the antocyanine-responsive gene is induced or suppressed by culturing fat cells in the presence of the curcuminoid and/or the antocyanine. The anti-obesity material and/or the anti-diabetes material are screened by using the amount of expression of the gene as an indicator. Further, the improved state of obesity and/or diabetes is evaluated by using the expressed amount of the gene as an indicator.
