To provide a method by which rolled absorbent cotton housed in a feeder for the absorbent cotton, having an adequate thickness, and regulated to the width of the cut cotton is drawn from the feeder in use, cut to a suitable size, and used as the cut cotton.

The method for feeding the cut cotton is carried out as follows: The rolled absorbent cotton 1 having a prescribed thickness and a prescribed width is formed, and the rolled absorbent cotton 1 is mounted on the cut cotton feeder 2. The end 1a of the outermost periphery of the rolled absorbent cotton 1 is partially unwound and the rolled absorbent cotton by a prescribed length per unit length of the cut cotton 4 is drawn from a feed port 2c of the cut cotton feeder 2 to the outside. The drawn rolled absorbent cotton 1 is cut with a cutter 3 provided at the root 1b of the feed port or the rolled absorbent cotton 1 is cut into the cut cotton 4 of a prescribed length with previously provided perforations 6 to feed the cut cotton. Furthermore, the cut cotton 4, as necessary, may be impregnated with an antiseptic solution.
