To provide a method for fixing a lid member to a container capable of easily performing pressing by a press mold for seaming without the generation of deformation or the like of the container, a metal hermetic container and a sealed battery.
The method for fixing the lid member to the container includes the steps of: inserting the lid body 2 in a metal outer can 1; lapping a raised part 4 of the lid member on the end portion on the opening side of the outer can to be pressed by the press mold; and seaming the end portion of the opening part of the outer can together with the raised part of the lid member toward the inner or outer side. In the method, a laterally extending linear deformed part 11 recessed inside by plastic deformation is formed on the outer can, a projection 27 provided in a mold 25 closely adhered to the outer peripheral surface of the outer can is pressed against a groove part 13 outside this linear deformed part, thereby pressing a projection 12 inside the linear deformed part against a recessed part 5 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the bottom part 3 of the lid member, thus performing the pressing by the press mold 32.
