Title:
METHOD FOR GRANULATION OF SYNTHETIC RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3686134
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent calcium salt, etc. from depositing and sticking on a strand guide and to solve cutting of a strand caused by this by using a cooling water processed by a magnetic water processing tool in a method for granulation of a synthetic resin in which the strand is cooled with cooling water and is cut into a pellet-like shape.
SOLUTION: In a method for granulation of a synthetic resin wherein a molten polymer is extruded into a strand condition and is cooled by using cooling water and is cut into a pellet-like shape, a cooling water processed by a magnetic type water processing tool. Both collision and concn. of positive and negative ions occur thereby simultaneously at the central part of a pipe in the case of polarization of the ions and dissolved ions are bonded together to accelerate crystallization of the ions in water. Namely, crystallization ordinarily occurs on a strand guide and is generated as a scale but in this case, extremely fine crystals are formed in water and are carried with water. Metal ions become powdery when they are crystallized in water by passing the magnetic water processing tool through a magnetic field of about 6,000 gauss and adhesive strength thereof becomes weak to suppress adhesion of the scale.
