Abstract:
To provide a hot rolling method of stainless steel by which the surface roughening of the surface of a steel sheet is prevented.
After applying a chemical containing carbon and low-melting oxide to the surface of a stainless steel slab containing ≤0.02 mass % C and ≥10 mass % Cr and heating it with a heating furnace, hot rolling is executed. Water-glass (Na2O.nSiO2, n=2-4) is preferable as the low-melting oxide. For further particulars, ≤0.02% C and 10-20% Cr, by mass, are contained and, in addition, one or more kinds of ≤0.01% S, ≤0.5% Mn, ≤0.02% N, ≤5% Mo, ≤0.5% Cu, ≤0.1% Al, ≤1% Nb, ≤1% Ti, ≤0.1% Zr and 0.1% V may be contained.
