Abstract:

To provide a method for improving the surface quality of a molded metal in which generation of craters at the end of the molded metal can effectively be prevented.

As to the method for improving the surface quality of a molded metal in which high density heating energy 3 is poured onto the surface of the molded metal 1 and a molten metal pool 4 composed of the surface layer of the molded metal 1 is formed at the energy poured position is melted. The energy source 2 is moved from the start part 1a to the end part 1b over the surface to be improved and the metal composing the surface layer is continuously melted and solidified over the surface to be improved. In this method, the high density heating energy 3 to be poured is reduced, and then, a solid metal 6 is added in a molten state to the molten pool 4 and the metal composing the molten pool 4 is solidified.
