In a method for inspecting the shape of a three-dimensional structure, the placement posture of a three-dimensional structure detected by a three-dimensional measuring machine is judged (S1). Then, the coordinate system of the design data of the three-dimensional structure is converted to the coordinate system of the three-dimensional measuring machine (S2), the straight-pipe part, starting part, and end part of the three-dimensional structure are measured by the three-dimensional measuring machine (S3), a pipe axis is calculated by processing the image of the direct-pipe part (S6), and the cross points of the pipe axes are calculated when there are a plurality of pipe axes (S7). Then, each center point of the start and end points is calculated by processing the image of the starting and ending parts and at the same time the shape data of the three-dimensional structure are calculated based on the cross point of each center point and pipe shaft, and the shape data are compared with design data, thus judging whether the three-dimensional structure is proper or not.
