Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simultaneously inspect the front and side faces of an article with one image pickup device.
CONSTITUTION: A prism (reflecting means) 8 which reflects light emitted from the side face 20 of a tablet (article to be inspected) T to the front face 19 side of the tablet T is arranged so that the prism 8 can be opposed to the side face 20 of the tablet T. The pictures of the front face 19 of the tablet T and light coming out from the prism 8 are taken with a TV camera (two- dimensional, image pickup device) 16. By processing video signals from the camera 16, the front face 19 and side face 20 of the tablet T are inspected.
