To provide a method for inspecting a tray storage position in a mechanical parking station, which enables the efficient and safe inspection of the suitability of the tray storage position of the mechanical parking station.

A lift 4 includes an image sensor 21 with an actuator, which has an image sensor 23 attached to the leading end of a single-axis robot 22, and an image processing data collecting device 24 for recording the image data acquired by the image sensor 23. After that, in each parking room 2, a visual field including a tray-side stopper 1a and a parking room-side stopper receiving base 1b is taken; the relative distance 1c between the tray-side stopper 1a and the parking room-side stopper receiving base 1b is measured by analyzing the obtained image; and the suitability of the storage position of the tray 3 is determined by the measured data.
