To provide a method of irradiating a tire side face with light, by which a running speed of a vehicle is recognized by visually viewing the tire side face from outside the vehicle, and representations applied to the tie side face is made to be recognized like animation, when the vehicle runs.
By the method, the representations applied to the tire side face, for example, a company name, a brand name or other marks, a decoration pattern and figure are visually recognized, by irradiating the tire side face mounted on the vehicle and rotationally driven when the vehicle runs. In the method, the tire side face is divided into adjoining ring-like regions of multiple rows in and out in a tire radial direction, and a plurality of the same multiple displays are provided in the ring-like region, in a circumferential direction with intervals, and an arrangement pattern in the circumferential direction, of the multiple representations is made to be different from each other in each of the ring-like regions. When the tire mounted on the running vehicle is rotated, the tire side face is intermittently irradiated at a fixed cycle with the light from a light source installed outside the vehicle.
