Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010279374
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a reagent kit suitable for carrying out a method designed for stabilizing, purifying and/or isolating a nucleic acid from biological materials, especially from stool samples that can contain impurities and interfering substances.

The method comprises purifying, stabilizing and/or isolating a nucleic acid from biological materials wherein an adsorption matrix (an insoluble carbohydrate-based adsorption matrix) in order to bind impurities thereto and an extraction buffer are added to a nucleic acid-containing sample, followed by removing the nucleic acid from the adsorption matrix, and wherein the extraction buffer has: (a) a 2-8 pH range; and (b) salt concentration of at least 100 mM, and/or contains (c) a phenol-neutralizing substance.
