To easily know a tendency of a taste preference of each person.SOLUTION: A method for knowing a taste preference of the present invention includes at least, evaluation (S11) and derivation (S12). At least three types of food or drink models are evaluated by a person or by a device, and an evaluation score for a taste that a user gives for each food or drink model is obtained. Concentration of salt in each of the at least three types of food or drink models is different. A taste preference score and/or a taste preference class of the user is derived by a person or by a device. In the derivation, at least the concentration of the salt in the food or drink models and the taste evaluation scores can be used.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
