Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the settlement of electrodeposition coating material components in a filter membrane by a simple operation and to prevent the degradation in the flow rate for filtration with lapse of time by incorporating a surfactant contg. specific HLB into a filtrate, thereby back washing the ultrafilter membrane. CONSTITUTION:A back washing stage is provided in a stage for recovering an electrodeposition coating bath liquid by ultrafiltration in an electrodeposition coating line and the back washing is executed by incorporating the surfactant of 14 to 17 HLB into the ultrafiltrate. The surfactant to be used here is preferably of 15 to 16 HLB and of a nonionic system and includes, for example, polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether system, polyoxethylene alkyl ether system, polyoxyethylene acyl ester system, etc. The polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether system is more particularly adequate.
