To provide a method for managing charging of a secondary battery of a work vehicle and a charging system, to achieve highly efficiently operation of the secondary battery by improving the efficiency of a rotation schedule such as use, exchange, and charging of the secondary battery to be attached to the electric work vehicle.
The management method includes the steps of: capturing the residual capacity of lithium ion batteries A-E for supplying power to a plurality of forklift trucks (work vehicles) 1-4; computing estimated power consumption of the work vehicles 1-4 to be consumed between the current time and a predetermine time; computing an index value for deciding priority order of exchanging the batteries of the work vehicles 1-4 on the basis of the difference between the residual capacity of each of the lithium ion batteries A-E and the estimated power consumption; and outputting a return command to a corresponding work vehicle among the vehicles 1-4 on the basis of the index value and a chargeable power of the lithium ion batteries A-E.
