To provide a novel method for manufacturing a collagenous film, to prepare a collagenous film manufactured therewith, and to provide novel methods using the collagenous film.
A collagenous film is made from pig skin (i.e., baby pig skin) for various purposes, most preferably for wrapping foods like ham. First, skin is taken from a pig, then it is quickly frozen. In the following treatment, the skin is defrosted, then fat and oil is removed with an enzyme, the skin is quickly hydrolyzed in alkali side, then hydrolyzed in acid side, the skin thus obtained is ground to a gel like fluid material, and finally it is extruded in the from of a sheet and dried to from a collagenous film. Thus formed collagenous film is used in a preferable manner for wrapping foods like ham.
