Abstract:
To provide, in production of a copper pyrithione aggregate, a novel production method which can solve a wastewater treatment problem by drastically reducing a use amount of an inorganic ammonium salt compared to the conventional production method.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a copper pyrithione aggregate, comprising a step of reacting sodium pyrithione and a composite salt of an inorganic copper (II) salt and an inorganic ammonium salt, the composite salt being represented by the following formula, CuX2 M2X2 (X is an anion of Cl, 1/2SO4, or NO3; and M is ammonium), in an aqueous medium of pH 1 to 9. The method includes a step of adding a naphthalenesulfonic acid-based dispersant, a molar ratio of CuX2 relative to CuX2 M2X2 is (5 to 100):1, and a weight ratio of M2X2 relative to the naphthalenesulfonic acid-based dispersant is (10 to 0.1):1.SELECTED DRAWING: None
