To provide a method of manufacturing a cylinder head which facilitates positioning of valve sheet stock and permits easy parting of products.
Core print section 4A and 5A are brought into s surface-to- surface contact with tapered surfaces 2B and 3B one side of the valve sheet stocks 2 and 3 having a shape combined with two truncated cones sharing an upper base and consisting of the two tapered surfaces 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B and the valve sheet stocks 2 and 3 and collapsible port cores 4 and 5 are integrated. The other tapered surfaces 2A and 3A of the valve sheet stocks 2 and 3, the core print section 4A and 5A projected from the inner peripheral surfaces of the valve sheet stocks 2 and 3 are fitted in metal molds 1 and the collapsible port cores 4 and 5 are held in metal molds 1. The valve sheet stocks are thereafter cast-in by a light alloy, by which the cylinder head is integrally molded. The collapsible port cores 4 and 5 are removed by collapse and the valve sheet stocks 2 and 3 are machined, by which the cylinder head is manufactured.
