Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved method of manufacturing fucoxanthin capable of enriching fucoxanthin in Phaeophyceace.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing fucoxanthin comprises: a Phaeophyceace introduction step of introducing Phaeophyceace into sea water adjusted to have an iron concentration of greater than 100 μg/L; and a light exposure step of exposing the sea water into which the Phaeophyceace was introduced to light including at least wavelengths of 400 to 500 nm. As well as enhancing the growth of Phaeophyceace, fucoxanthin is also enriched.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
