Title:
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HYDROGEN OR HYDROGEN-CONTAINING GAS FROM ORGANIC WASTE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3925481
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing high purity hydrogen at a low cost and efficiently from an organic waste by dry distillation and water gas reaction.
SOLUTION: The hydrogen is manufactured by subjecting a vegetable waste to dry distillation and carbonization in the carbonization step (1), reacting the obtained char with steam to conduct the water gas reaction in the water gas reaction step (3), and separating the hydrogen from the water gas in the step (4). The dry distillation gas generated in the carbonization step (1) is completely burned at the secondary combustion step (2), and by the generated combustion gas the heat required to get the water gas reaction (3) to proceed is indirectly provided. The steps (1)-(3) are each conducted in an independent reactor. The heat of the combustion gas in the step (2) is utilized in the step (5) to generate the steam used for the water gas reaction. The waste heat of the combustion gas after the generation of the steam can be used for drying the raw material vegetable waste. The heat of the water gas generated by the water gas reaction is used for heating the air supplied to the carbonization step and secondary combustion step.
