In the method for manufacturing a multilayer optical recording medium provided with a plurality of recording and reproduction layers, a laminate obtained by repeating a series of steps for laminating, adhering and peeling a base film by a prescribed number of times corresponding to the number of layers of a multiplayer optical recording medium to be manufactured by using a structure formed by continuing a first intermediate layer 5, a recording and reproduction layer 8 and a second intermediate layer 10 on the base film 4 for a plurality of layers is punched into a shape corresponding to the multilayer optical recording medium to be manufactured, and adhered to a base plate, providing a cover layer.
