To provide a method for manufacturing a nickel powder containing no combined particle, having an average particle diameter of 0.02 to 0.1 μm, and making the single particles in each dispersed state.
The method for manufacturing the nickel powder having the average particle diameter of 0.02 to 0.1 μm by a vapor-phase hydrogen reduction method, comprises employing a nickel chloride gas as a source gas, and setting a residence time in a synthesis temperature range to 0.01 to 0.1 second, a partial pressure of the nickel chloride gas to 0.0005 to 0.05, and a synthesis temperature to 900 to 1,453°C. Thereby, a nickel superfine powder in the state of making each single particle dispersed is obtained, which can be preferably used for forming an internal electrode of a multilayer ceramic capacitor made of spherical fine powder.
