To provide a method for manufacturing an optical adjusting member by which irregularity is hardly produced on a base material surface during a manufacturing process by a roll to roll process.
A base material 21 is pulled out from a base material roll 301. A binder resin layer 23 which contains a plurality of particles and a part of the particles projects from a surface is formed on the base material 21 surface. The base material 21 on which the binder resin layer 23 is formed is wound up around a winding roll 302 with winding tension of ≥10 mN/mm and <1,000 mN/mm. The base material 21 is pulled out from the winding roll 302. Then a linear prism 25 is formed on a surface of a side opposite to the surface where the binder resin layer 23 is formed among surfaces of the pulled out base material 21 by using a molding roll 60 which has a transfer groove for forming the linear prism on its surface.
