Abstract:
To provide a method for producing sponge titanium, in which, while precisely grasping the reaction condition of titanium tetrachloride in the metal reduction reaction vessel, the reduction step can be performed.SOLUTION: The method for producing sponge titanium of the present invention comprises a reduction step in which titanium tetrachloride is fed into a metal reduction reaction vessel, and titanium tetrachloride is reduced in the metal reduction reaction vessel, and is a method for producing sponge titanium, and in which, characterized, in the reduction step, a sample gas is sampled from the internal space of the metal reduction reaction vessel, and the sample gas is subjected to one or more of (1) analysis of aqueous solution obtained by contact between the sample gas and water, and (2) component analysis of powder contained in the sample gas.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
