Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a wood composite material which does not contain formaldehyde and can be manufactured from a natural recyclable material.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a wood composite material is provided that includes a step of manufacturing a thermoset resin by reacting a poly-condensation phenolic compound and/or an aminoplast forming agent with 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), a step of bringing the resin into contact with a lignocellulose-containing material and a step of curing the resin as well as forming the wood composite material.SELECTED DRAWING: None
