PURPOSE: To prevent the excess buildup of the slag in a ladle by installing a lining compsn. consisting of a basic compsn. consisting of specific weight % of aluminous material and refractory clay and fine silicon carbide of specific pts.wt. of this compsn.

CONSTITUTION: The basic compsn. comprises about 75 to 95 wt.% aluminous material of about ≥63 wt.% alumina content and the balance of the refractory clay. The refractory lining compsn. comprises the fine silicon carbide of about 5 to 20 wt.% per 100 pts.wt. basic compsn. and the basic compsn. This lining compsn. 17 is installed to a portion to be exposed to the molten steel of the ladle 10 for steel. As a result, the cost of the ladle brick is reduced.
