Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and processor for image processing which generates no false outline and excellently forms multi parallel line at the time of multi-valued representation by the formation of the multi parallel line by pulse-width modulation on a gradational image signal in multiple-pixel units.
SOLUTION: This method consists of a threshold value matrix storage means 3 which stores threshold levels and outputs a threshold level varying in synchronism with a multi parallel line position, a multi-valuing means 2 which compares an input image signal with the threshold level from the above-mentioned threshold value matrix storage means 3, a correction error arithmetic means 5 which calculates the error between the input image signal and multi-valued data and corrects the input image signal, and a pulse-width modulating means 4 which forms multi parallel line by imposing pulse-width modulation on the multi-valued data in multiple-pixel units. Consequently, excellent print quality which is free of a false outline can be obtained.
