Abstract:

To provide a method for producing 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane satisfying industrial and economical requirements from generally or easily available reactors in a high yield.

This method for producing 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane comprises reacting 1,1,1,3,3-pentachloropropane or a partially fluorinated product of the 1,1,1,3,3-pentachloropropane with hydrogen fluoride in the presence of a hydrofluorination catalyst.
