To provide a method for producing DHPO (1,3-di-(2-hydroperoxy-2-propyl)-benzene) in a high selectivity.
This method for producing DHPO comprising: a process of oxidation of oxidizing liquid containing MDC (1,3-diisopropylbenzene) to obtain DHPO, CHPO [3-(2-hydroxy-2-propyl)-1-(2-hydroperoxy-2-propyl)-benzene], MHPO [3-isopropyl-1-(2-hydroperoxy-2-propyl)-benzene], MDC and DCA [1,3-di-(2-hydroxy-2-propyl)-benzene]; a process of extracting with an aqueous solution of subjecting the above liquid with an extraction to obtain an aqueous layer containing the DHPO and CHPO and an oil layer containing the MDC; and DCA and a process of recycling of recycling the obtained oil layer to the process of the oxidation reaction is characterized by feeding the recycled oil after mixing with a neutralizing agent before the oxidation reaction process.
