Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a 4-nitroaniline derivative by nitrating a corresponding aniline derivative in high selectivity and yield.

This method for producing the 4-nitroaniline derivative of general formula (2) (where, R1 and R2 are each the same as mentioned below) comprises reacting the corresponding aniline derivative of general formula (1) (where, R1 is a 1-10C alkyl; R2 is an acyl or the group SO2R3, wherein R3 is a 1-10C alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl) with nitric acid in the presence of a solvent and a nitrite at an internal temperature of ≥102°C.
