Abstract:

To provide an intermediate for producing a tetrahydroisoquinoline compound useful as a medicine for preventing or treating diseases in which chemokine receptor 3 (CCR3) particitates, and to provide a method for producing the intermediate for the production.

This method for producing the 6-fluoro-3-(4-fluorobenzyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline represented by formula (3) or its salt is characterized by reacting 1-(3-fluorophenyl)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-propane-2-amine represented by formula (4) or its salt with formaldehyde or a formaldehyde equivalent in the presence or absence of an acid.
