Abstract:

To provide a method of production, capable of stably obtaining crosslinked acrylic resin particles having a high mono-dispersibility.

This method for producing the acrylic resin particles comprises a process of obtaining a mixed composition by adding a photopolymerization initiator to a monomer mixture containing a monofunctional monomer component and a photopolymerizable polyfunctional monomer component, and having 1 to 4 mPa s viscosity at 22C, a process of forming an emulsion containing the liquid droplets of the monomer mixture by dispersing the mixed composition into an aqueous medium containing 0.05 to 2 wt.% surfactant through a micro-channel, and a process of obtaining the acrylic resin particles by irradiating ultraviolet light on the emulsion to polymerize the liquid droplets, and is characterized in that the micro-channel divides the mixed composition and the aqueous medium and is provided by an intermediate plate equipped with a penetrated hole in its thickness direction, the penetrated hole has a 2-staged form the side of making a contact with the mixed composition is made a thin hole and the side of making a contact with the aqueous medium is made a slit-formed hole.
